Forgot Login Details

Forgotten password

If a user forgets their password, they can follow the instructions and options on the Beegle login page, selecting the appropriate option immediately below the username and password fields. For security reasons, we will not detail the exact process for retrieving credentials on this forum.

Under certain conditions, the normal password reset process above will not be possible. In these cases the following method needs to be followed.

Another option is to have an administration user reset the user's password with a temporary one. This is done by:

  1. Navigate to the 'Users' page.
  2. Find the user in question and click 'Show this user'
  3. Click 'Set Temporary Password'
  4. Communicate the temporary password to the user, which they can use to then log in.

We do not recommend sending the new user the temporary password by email. The most secure way of issuing the password to them is verbally.

  5. When the user logs in they will be forced to change their password.

Forgotten email/username

If a user forgets the email address used as their username, another staff member can look them up on the 'Users' page to find the email address.

Lost Multi-Factor Authentication

The only way to regain access to Beegle after losing a Multi-factor Authentication device is to enter the recovery codes.

Users can obtain their recovery codes by accessing the MFA page per these instructions, or immediately after first setting up MFA. These recovery codes should be stored somewhere secure.
